I'm on a roll today. Just found news that there might be a possible Starcraft 2? Very interesting!

TeamLiquid has apparently translated a post from a Korean website which claims that "according to the game developers," Blizzard will announce Starcraft 2 at Blizzard's World Wide Invitational (WWI) to be held in South Korea. If you've paid any attention to Korea and Starcraft you'll know it's no joke over there. Our "hardcore" gets air quotes compared to Korea's hardcore, which should actually have just been written in all caps, bolded and italicized. Although we have absolutely no idea about the legitimacy of this Starcraft 2 information, we do know that there is a megaton announcement planned around May 19.

Speaking with Joystiq, Blizzard wouldn't confirm Starcraft 2, but said they are planning on making a huge announcement at the WWI. Starcraft 2 had previously been hinted by Blizzard's VP of business development. Obviously announcing Starcraft 2 in Korea is only appropriate, as matches are held in stadiums, carried on television and are practically a national sport. This way, Blizzard can announce the next WoW expansion at min-E3 and then save the Diablo 3 announcement for BlizzCon. So if sometime around May 19 you suddenly feel a disturbance in the force and millions of people screaming, that's just South Korea imploding from the news that Starcraft 2 is coming.

I was wondering would Starcraft ever be made into a MMORPG kind of like what they done with World of Warcraft?

God I hope not.

I'd like to see some sort of conclusion to the starcraft series, though. Brood wars and WC's Frozen throne left me hanging (though I haven't checked the lore in WOW yet).

Theres been rumors of a Starcraft 2 for ages, the company wont say one way or the other. I would like to see another starcraft game but im pretty sure it would never live up to its predecessor (thus being the reason they havnt tried to make one yet)

i might play World of Starcraft......or not, i would have to see the reviews of such a game. I did play starcraft from time to time, however C&C was my main RTS game before guildwars swallowed my gaming time whole...lol

Oh heard about this from my friends ill say the same thing I said then. Most likely it's Diablo 3 and not Starcraft 2. Info about the design and creation of Diablo 3 has been leaking everywhere for awhile now. Blizzard would be stupid to release a starcraft 2. You just cant beat a hit like starcraft 2 especially without the origonal team. Also, you notice when was the last time blizzard updated starcraft? lol. Yes I can't even remember. However Blizzard continues to upgrade Diablo 2 for some reason. They are keeping the Diablo 2 franchise alive. But for those of you who still think it's SC2 heres another article on it:

Blizzard used to put love in care into all their games, until they made WoW. They went mad with power, yadda yadda yadda, forgot about their old games. (It was during this time that some ANet employees, then blizzard employees, were like "My Blizzard sense is tingling! I see in a year you will make an evil soul-stealing game called World of Warcraft! We're out of here, mon." and went on to form ANet)

Glad to see Blizzard still has some purity in them. I'm waiting for a Warcraft IV though, though it'll never happen. (For God's sake, WoW doesn't even continue the story. It just uses the lore of the Warcraft games before it as an excuse for people to think "Wow it's a warcraft game, it must be good")
